Case Study 1 - Motorcycle Injury Accident
The claimant was a male in his 20’s riding a motorbike in Sydney NSW. A motor vehicle failed to give way to oncoming traffic whilst exiting their driveway, resulting in a significant collision with the claimant’s motorbike in 2019. The claimant sustained significant injuries including fractures to multiple regions of his body and a life changing psychiatric injury. He required a series of operations following the accident and was subsequently prevented from fulfilling a career in the Australian Defence Force. Considerable differences in medical opinions existed regarding the extent and the impact of the claimant’s ongoing injuries which caused protracted legal and medical arguments in the claim. Notwithstanding the protracted and technical nature of the claim, a compensation payout of $1,300,000 was secured for the claimant.
Case Study 2 - Cyclist Injury Accident
The claimant was a male cyclist in his 60’s from a country town in NSW who worked as a road maintenance worker. He was riding his bicycle when a motor vehicle collided with him at speed in 2018, resulting in life changing injuries. He was knocked unconscious and subsequently transported to hospital by helicopter before undergoing extensive emergency surgery. The claimant was very fortunate not to sustain brain or spinal injuries, but did require further surgery after his initial ICU admission for unresolved fractures throughout his body. Leigh worked extensively with the insurer to ensure that the claimant received extensive treatment and rehabilitation for his physical and psychiatric injuries in addition to securing a compensation payout of $750,000.00.
Case Study 3 - Motor Scooter Injury Accident
The claimant was a male in his 50’s who worked as a self-employed marketing executive. He sustained numerous fractures and soft tissue injuries as well as a significant psychiatric injury when he was knocked from his motor scooter by a motor vehicle that failed to give way and collided with him in Sydney NSW in 2019. Leigh worked with the insurer, the rehabilitation provider and a large list of treatment providers to ensure that the claimant was able to obtain a very favourable return to work outcome after extensive physical and psychiatric treatment, whilst securing him a compensation payout of $480,00.00.
